When you think Miami, five star restaurants probably do not top your list of what you want to eat. This is unfortunate, as Miami has many fine dining and relaxed restaurants where you can enjoy quality food at reasonable prices. However, this does not mean that you cannot find a great five star restaurant in Miami – it just takes a little searching.
The first thing that you need to consider is the reputation of the restaurant. Many of the five star restaurants in Miami have already established themselves in the local and national community. If they are a top choice for people, then so is the restaurant. You should be able to find out the reputation of the restaurant online, by reading some reviews or talking to those who have eaten there before.
Once you have determined the reputation, then you should begin trying to figure out which cuisine to try first. If you are visiting the city for the first time, you should limit your choices to the local restaurants. While this might be the safest way to go, it might also be the most boring. Remember that Miami is more than just an “Miami” place – it is a culture and a community. If you plan on spending some time here, you should include some effort in understanding the history of the city as well as in trying the various local cuisines.
Of course, this will depend largely on what you are looking for. If you have a rather discerning palate, then you might choose to head to Mango Republic or Tropical Cafe. Both of these establishments offer a high level of quality, although they do differ slightly in price. In addition, both of them are located in the central part of the city – so you should be able to easily access their location. If your budget simply will not allow you to leave, then you might want to consider stopping into Bikini Bus Tours, which offers an exciting and unique tour of Miami’s beaches. You can also stop by at the Delano Market, which is Miami’s oldest farmers market.
However, if you would like to spend your vacation in a less conventional manner, then you should consider hopping onto one of the many charter flights that are currently flying out of South Beach. These flights are especially helpful if you are interested in sampling something a little different. You won’t need to worry about walking too far – just take a cab. These flights are extremely convenient, since you can easily stop anywhere that you wish, without having to worry about finding transportation. There is usually no added charge when you book, and you can typically see Miami-Dade County in just a few hours, making it the perfect way to experience the cultural center of Miami.
Of course, eating at one of these restaurants will only be the first step toward experiencing Miami’s culinary scene. Miami is filled with incredible dining experiences, from waterfront dining to high-end fine dining. The following are some of the most popular places in the city where you can experience Latin, Asian, and continental cuisine – all while being around some of the most beautiful views in the country. Of course, the Miami area is also loaded with top-rated bars and nightclubs.
Portobello – If you are looking for a place to go that is off the beaten path, then look no further than Portobello. A short walk from the hip-hop venues and art galleries in downtown Miami, this neighborhood offers incredible food and wine, as well as great wine trails – with tons of red wines coming from regions across America. Make sure to stop by the infamous Portobello Market on your way into the restaurant, as you will be treated to some authentic Cuban food. Portobello is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and lunch is served daily.
Pimm’s Donuts – It is hard to go wrong with this restaurant. One of Miami’s original burgers, Pimm’s was born out of an accident. After seeing how successful the business was growing, Mr. Pimm decided to expand his line of donuts, and opened up his very first location in a historic warehouse in the Downtown Miami area. Now, I’m continuing to be a local favorite with its unique donut recipe and fast service. While you are in the mood to indulge, head to this restaurant and have a grand old time!
