The question of how much does a mutton snapper weigh often arises when people want to go on a vacation and they want to take the ship that takes them. They look for a Mutton snapper to take with them because of its small size and because it is very popular in the saltwater world. But in truth it is not that big and is neither a fast swimming fish nor a very good diver. But the people who are really interested in this fish usually end up wondering about its weight, because it is one of the first fish that people try to take with them when they go on a vacation to the sea shore.
The average weight of this fish is about twenty-five pounds in the case of males and twenty-four or twenty-five pounds in the case of females. In case of both the weights the total amount of weight would be about three hundred and thirty pounds. The smaller minors, which are called immature minors or clown minors can weigh up to ten pounds.
There are two types of these fish, the bigger ones which are called the clown or the stocking fish and the lesser ones which are known as the analis. The smaller ones belong to the class of the rainbow fish. All the members of this class are very similar in appearance and in behavior, but they differ in behavior because some of them can be aggressive and others are shy. The commonest places where you will find these monsters are the coastal waters of Brazil, the Gulf waters off the coast of Texas and Louisiana and in many rivers in Canada. You will also come across them at the mouth of some major rivers such as the Amazon in Peru, in some of the tributaries of the Amazon and in some salt water lakes in the northern part of the United States.
